Most of you already know me from the ATCC newsletter, The King’s Herald, which I’ve been involved with for the last four years.

I got hooked on Airedales back in 1976 when I applied for a job as kennel help for Alice Eglajs of Broadmount Kennels. I’d never even heard of an Airedale before but when I met her eight, it was love at first sight! I got my first Airedale from Alice, Ch. Broadmount Kjlla and now I wouldn’t have any other.

I’m currently owned by five, ranging in age from 1 to 13 years old, who keep me pretty busy. Why oh why, do I insist on keeping four of them stripped …?

I’m involved in conformation and obedience mostly but I’ve done agility, tracking, scent hurling and weight pulling with my dogs. I’ve bred and/or owned 19 champions, with most of them earning an obedience title as well. I have three trained for their CDs right now, but just have to find the time to get them in the ring!

I work for a printing company as a graphic designer (hence the professional look of the KH). Eventually, I would like to be self employed. I was also a professional dog groomer for 20 years.

The Director of the Prairie Provinces will be a “new hat” for me and I’m looking forward to it.
